...power?

Taking into account the fact that power and money go hand in hand most of the time, the power-hunting money-grabbing side of your personality would seriously consider that it brings true happiness. But power differs just as well our tastes regarding the dish of happiness and its 'ingredients'.
Power rewards us with control over certain events and people, lets us make important decisions that influence other people's lives and destinies – depends on how much power you have of course.
If you are a big boss of a big company, you control its work totally. It doesn't always mean that you work as hard as poor people who work for you, which is certainly good. You definitely earn much more money than people who overwork for you, which is not at all bad either! You certainly have some responsibilities (every silver lining has its bloody cloud after all!) but most of the time they reduce to bossily inquiring how things are going on in the company and why those idiots have started underworking instead of overworking (in your critical observant view of course).
You certainly have a responsible person who you bossily responsibly push on regarding overworking, but he earns a few monetary units more than the rest so why not start being responsible for everything instead of underworking! Such kind of power suits you perfectly because it gives you freedom – occasionally from hard work and mostly from making your ends meet. You made your ends meet, fall in love with each other and get married very long ago, now you have time and possibility to enjoy your beerbellied powerful self to the fullest. Power does bring certain amount of happiness to you (the exact amount is easily checkable on your bank account), however, there's always more to power than meets the eye...
What if you're a much more powerful person in this world than just a Big Business Fish? What if you are a president of your native country? Would such global power give you even more happiness than your less juicy position of a big fat cat? Let's count all possible blessings and cursings... Regarding most countable blessing, they are still on your bank account and they are hardly ever possible to count this time which is nothing but good! You control a great deal of people, you're invariably in the heart of all the events in your country. You're a skilful manipulator and a very strong person mentally – such global power has taught you a few lessons already. Your family see you very rarely, you're responsible for millions of people after all, they're your family too. You don't always treat the latter 'bunch' as highly respected members of your family, but oh well, it's hardly ever possible to please everyone when your family is as big as yours. Sometimes you don't even try to do it, but no one will ever find out because you're powerful and adequate enough to keep your own secrets... Unless mass media is now able to read your powerful thoughts and ambitiously selfish intentions of course... In any case, you, as Mister (or who knows maybe Ms) President crave for eternal youth and life for your powerful epopee. That hardly ever satisfies your power-hungry competitors but oh well you will get your own powerful back on them in case they try to stand in your way.
Does such power bring healing happiness to the 'chosen ones' of our society? Most likely it does. But it also very often awards them such side effects as satiety, indifference to nothing but money and more power, crash of moral values and notions – who cares about moral values when you almost control the world?!
Jimi Hendrix once said 'When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace'. The good ole rock chile knows the ropes here, don't you think?
